Like many song titles, Crimson And Clover has been open to interpretation for years. It’s origin ranges from two words that go together well; to a favorite flower; to a reference to two of life’s pleasurable pursuits . One thing is for sure. It is Tommy James and the Shondells’ most popular song ever. It spent two of it’s fifteen weeks on the charts in 1968 at number 1. It’s popularity was not lost on Keith who requested it tonight on PillowTalk. It is his favorite song and he hadn’t heard it in a long time. The song reminds him of his mom, who he lost 5 years ago. Every time his mom used to hear Crimson And Clover on the radio, she used to call her son to tell him it was on because she knew he loved it so much. Thanks for your dedication Keith. It is a great song. If you haven’t heard it in a long time, check out this great live version of it.
