School is back in session. That means among other things, that lots of school buses are back on the road. If it has been a while since you’ve taken your driver’s test or you have to make that seasonal adjustment in traffic, make sure you stop at least ten feet either side of (in back of or facing) a school bus when it’s red lights are flashing.

In Connecticut, some pretty hefty monetary fines as well as jail time can be imposed for failure to stop. Can anyone really place a value on the life of one of our children getting off a school bus? Just like texting and driving, after the accident…it’s too late.

Be alert, aware and mindful when behind the wheel. Give our sons, daughters, nieces, nephews and grand-kids the best chance to succeed by keeping them safe during the school year.
