Flashback Friday: 1988 – Yellowstone Park Closed For The First Time Ever

It was September 8, 1988 that wildfires caused Yellowstone National Park to be closed for the first time in U.S. history.

A little more than a week later, the Summer Olympics opened in Seoul, South Korea.

And at the end of the month, NASA resumed Space Shuttle flights for the first time since the Challenger disaster with Discovery.
