Yesterday, the NASCAR Monster Energy Series ran their final fall race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. My wife and I have attended every fall race there since before we were married, going back to 2007. So now we need a new fall tradition!

A race fan since I was kid, and well before NASCAR was popular outside of the southeast, it was a big deal to have these stars racing here in New England. However, declining attendance and the desire to have the top series draw from a larger fan-base, NASCAR decided to award an extra race to Las Vegas; at the expense of New Hampshire.

So, now, my wife and I are open to another activity to fill one Sunday in September. Perhaps we’ll have to explore some of the other tracks in the area. I know there’s some great local talent competing at Stafford Motor Speedway and at Thompson Speedway, too!
