Woman Discovers the Plant She's Been Watering for 2 Years Is Fake

March 3, 2020

For two years, Caelie Wilkes has "religiously" taken care of her succulent.

And to this day, it looks just like it does the day she brought it home. Unfortunately, it's not due to Wilkes' strict and meticulous care.

Wilkes' succulent remained perfect because, unfortunately, the plant she cared for the past two years was fake the entire time. Wilkes took to Facebook with the hilarious story.

"I've had this beautiful succulent for about 2 years now," she writes. "I was so proud of this plant. It was full, beautiful coloring, just an overall perfect plant. I had it up in my kitchen window."

Then, when she tried to put the plant in a new home, she realized it was sitting in styrofoam the whole time. "I go to pull it from the original plastic container it was purchased with to learn this plant was FAKE," she wries.

She continued, "Tried my hardest to keep it looking it's best, and it's completely plastic. How did I not know this. I feel like these last two years have been a lie."
