We've surpassed our average snowfall for the month of April. So, hopefully that's it.

The Hartford area receives, on average, 1.4 inches of snow for the month of April. In 1996, we received our last measurable snowfall on April 10th! That was a rather snowy season, too, giving us the most ever in Connecticut: 115.2 inches! The biggest April snow storm was in 1982. On April 6th, Hartford received 14.2 inches of snow.

It can be cold, too! The latest frost, on average, happens April 18th. Although in the northwest hills, the last frost generally occurs in May. The average last frost there is on May 9th.

But it can be warm, too. We average at least one day above 80 degrees in April. And here's something to look forward to, we will gain another 1 hour and 13 minutes of daylight by the end of the month.
