Well, now that Halloween has come and gone, you know what’s coming next. The holiday catalogs have already started arriving, stores are being decorated and soon we’ll start seeing those T-V commercials about the latest and greatest gift ideas. One new gift idea that’s really cool was developed right here in Connecticut.....

This Sunday is Veterans Day. And did you know that the holiday was originally named Armistice Day? It originated as a day to commemorate the ending of World War One – exactly one hundred years ago. It wasn’t until thirty-five years later that the holiday was named Veterans Day.

Today, we observe Veterans Day as a way to honor veterans. Throughout the weekend, there are observances happening all over Connecticut. And lots of destinations and attractions are offering free or reduced admission to veterans and their families – it’s their way of thanking them for their service.
