Shades Of Ireland Tour: Experience Cabra Castle

February 15, 2019

Lite 100.5 WRCH and Collette guided touring have teamed up to offer you the Shades Of Ireland experience, a ten-day tour of Ireland with Mike Stacy and fellow WRCH listeners!

We shared details of the first days of the tour earlier (catch up here), and now we're on to what you'll get to do on the final days of the tour.

Day 9 (Sunday, August 25, 2019): Limerick - Tullamore/Kilbeggan - Kingscourt.

You don’t have to be a connoisseur to appreciate the old-world heritage of Ireland’s whiskey territory. Your journey brings you to Tullamore and Kilbeggan in the heart of Ireland, where a superb distillery brings whiskey craftsmanship to life and gives you a taste of the final product. Top your day off with an overnight stay on the regal grounds of Cabra Castle where you toast the end of a fabulous trip during your farewell dinner.

Cabra Castle stands on 100 acres of gardens and parkland and features incredible views of the Cavan countryside that's famous for its beautiful lakes. Formerly known as Cormey Castle, its history dates back to the pre-Cromwellian times of the 16th century. Purchased in the early 19th century by Colonel Joseph Pratt, it was rebuilt and renamed Cabra Castle. The castle's long legacy lends a mature, cultured air that's felt in strolling its magnificent hallways and stairwells. There is no better way to get the full experience of this incredible place than to spend the night evneloped in the castle's history, where modern amenities and views of nearby Dun an Ri Forest Park and the Irish countryside are yours to enjoy.

Day 10 (Monday, August 26, 2019): The tour ends your journey in Kingscourt, before we travel back home.
