Event Description:

Dog Star Rescue’s 6th Annual Bark and Brew Offers Thomas Hooker Beer Samples, Puppy Cuddles and Local Music From Sister Funk.

Dog Star Rescue will host its 6th annual Bark and Brew to benefit the adoption of stray dogs in Connecticut, and throughout New England. The special event will be held on September 28, 2019 at Thomas Hooker Brewery, a major partner of Dog Star Rescue, and it will include beer samples and puppy cuddles for attendees throughout the evening.

“Bark and Brew is our biggest, and most important event of the year. It allows us to show people first hand how this 100% volunteer-run organization works to help dogs in need of a new home,” said Dog Star Rescue President Dan McCabe. “There are millions of stray dogs in the U.S., and it is important for us to raise awareness of this problem, and do our part to get as many dogs as possible adopted, living a happy life with a great family.  Your help is vital to this effort”

In addition to puppy cuddles at the puppy kissing booth during Bark and Brew, attendees will also be able to enjoy a variety of Thomas Hooker beers to sample throughout the evening, including #Nofilter, Golden Nymph IPA, Oktoberfest, NorEaster, Farm to Can and more. Thomas Hooker, which is located next to Dog Star Rescue’s facility in Bloomfield, has been a supporter of the nonprofit’s efforts and a host of the Bark and Brew since the event’s inception.

“We really couldn’t do this event without Thomas Hooker Brewery and the generosity of owner Curt Cameron, as well as the brewery’s staff,” said McCabe. “Their efforts have helped us raise awareness, donations, and even helped us get more and more dogs adopted every year.”

Bark and Brew will also offer Dog Star’s award winning barbeque for guests, as well as music from all-female band, Sister Funk, which has been nominated for a New England Music Award for Best Band in Connecticut. The event will also include a raffle of dozens of donated prizes, ranging from dog-specific toys and treats to bottles of wine and gift packages for people to enjoy.

Individual tickets for Bark and Brew are $45, and a donation of $250 includes two tickets, 10 Raffle Tickets and VIP access. The 100% of the money raised from the event will go directly to supporting Dog Star Rescue’s adoption efforts in New England.

Bark and Brew will run from 6pm-10pm on September 28 in a joint effort at Thomas Hooker Brewery and Dog Star Rescue’s headquarters at 12 Tobey Road, Bloomfield, CT 06002. To purchase tickets, please visit Dog Star Rescue ticket page
