ActUp Theater’s contemporary take on  “Ebony Annie” bursts on the stage this Holiday Season with dances and songs exploding out of fierce cultural identity, rambunctious humor and eccentricity that’s positively thrums with life and love!

This December, bring your family and friends to experience hope, optimism and love with ActUp Theater’s Broadway style - 3rd Annual Production of Ebony Annie!  Join us at the Annie Fisher Montessori Magnet School on December 6th , 7th , and 8th  at 7pm and 3pm Saturday matinee to witness the joy of Ebony Annie!

Faithlyn and Tyler Johnson (mother and daughter duo), inspire, guide, and direct a cast of over 50 multicultural inner-city youth from over 15 schools and community members to perform numbers bursting with joy and celebration, a heartwarming tale that reminds us to spread hope and love. This culturally rich vision of the beloved tale Annie will remind the audience of the true meaning of the holidays through favorites such as "A Hard Knock Life" and "Tomorrow”.

Through productions such as Ebony Annie, children of all ages can build relationships and realize their ability to make a difference in the world through the arts. ActUp Theater strives to continue making a positive impact on the Hartford community by continuing to offer children and adults the opportunity to express themselves. “Put my statue in Keney Park!” Says the Gatekeeper played by Senator McCrory in the spring-hit sold out production of “The Wiz”.

The community has embraced ActUp’s mission and we will continue to provide those with an even better experience through each performance.

ActUp Theater recognizes social-justice issues pulled from today’s culture and addresses them through the power of the arts. We strive to remind people that we are one community.
